The College of Nursing requires submission of the Apply Texas Application which may be found at http://www.applytexas.org. The application and all required credentials must be received (not postmarked) by February 1, 2009.  For complete requirements, please go to http://nursing.tamhsc.edu.

Steps for completing the Apply Texas Application

1)   Create an Apply Texas account by going to http://www.applytexas.org

2)   Complete the My Profile Section and make note of the username you are assigned
       as you may need this later.

3)   Go to the My Application tab and create a new application

• Select “Create a new 4 year university admissions application”

4)   Select the target university

• Texas A&M Health Science Center

5)   Select application type

• Only available choices are transfer, undergraduate or transfer, international (for non US citizens)

6)   Select semester of entry

• Summer II 2008 is the only choice you may select. Pending approval from the Texas Board of Nursing, classes are expected to begin late summer.
  

7)   Select school

• See the note indicating you may only make one choice for a major for the BSN program. The First Choice School to be selected is the College of Nursing. There is a place to select a Second Choice School, but you should not make any selection from this option. Leave it as the default “Select school”.

• Note the deadline of 2/1/2009 and the application fee of $50.

8)   Select major

• You have three choices: BSN Generic, BSN Accelerated, BSN RN to BSN option. For further information on the three tracks, please go to http://nursing.tamhsc.edu.

9)   Complete remainder of application providing as much detail as possible.

Essays

The application refers to Topic C essay as optional on page 7. This essay is entirely optional and should be written if you have pertinent information that relates to this topic, otherwise, you need not complete it. The College of Nursing does require one essay which may be found on page 8 of the application under Custom University & Major Specific Questions. Note the link to “Essay – required” in this section. Please submit this required essay preferably by mail or email to the TAMHSC Office of the Registrar. Preferred length and format is 1 to 2 pages, single-spaced, in a 12-point font.

Fee Payment

Please note that we prefer fee payment to be made by check or money order.  We do not currently accept credit card payments. Be sure to include the student’s name, expected term of entry, and application ID on your check or money order. The mailing address may be found on page 9 of the application.
