Recognition Ceremony

The College of Nursing hosts a separate event, typically on the same day of commencement. Baccalaureate students receive their nursing pin and graduate students receive hoods. The wearing of the pin is a source of pride, symbolizing the rights and privileges earned by the BSN graduates. The pin, which is representative and unique to the Texas A&M College of Nursing, was designed by the college’s inaugural class in 2009. Hooding is a momentous time recognizing students who have earned an advanced degree. These ceremonies allow graduates to receive special recognition in a more personal way than is permitted at the university's general commencement event.
