March 30, 2017, Central Baptist Church, Bryan, Texas
Disaster Day was created by the Texas A&M College of Nursing to offer hands-on training in disaster response. The annual, one-day, student-led event is carefully planned and coordinated by nursing students to provide future health care professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond in an emergency situation through an interdisciplinary, simulated learning experience.
Students from College of Nursing, the College of Medicine, the Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy and the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences will participate. Central Baptist Church in Bryan will serve as a medical needs shelter and handle crush injuries, fractures, internal bleeding, head wounds and respiratory distress.
A story on last year's Disaster Day can be viewed on the Vital Record website.
