Application Deadline Jan. 15, 2018
Mandatory Orientation July 19, 2018
First Class Day Aug. 2018 (fall term)

The MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner program has transitioned to a fall entry term only. Our next admission cycle will open Nov. 1, 2017 for fall 2018 entry.

NOTE:  The College of Nursing only admits students to the MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner track in the fall term.

The MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner track prepares the graduate to practice as a primary care provider to a wide range of clients while focusing on health promotion, risk reduction, disease prevention and illness management. The majority of course instruction is delivered online allowing students to balance career, family and other responsibilities, while advancing their education. Student will be expected to travel to the Bryan-College Station campus for clinical/class activities approximately one to two times a semester. When taking NURS 653 (Advanced Health Assessment), students are required to come to the Bryan-College Station campus on two to three separate occasions for overnight stays to complete clinical hours in the Simulation Lab. Practice experiences with a preceptor may be obtained within the student's work environment.

Applicants must reside in the state of Texas and hold an active, unencumbered RN license to be eligible to apply. Students who relocate out of state during the course of their enrollment may be unable to continue due to the regulations which many state boards of nursing impose regarding use of preceptors.
