Traditional BSN to be offered in Round Rock
The College of Nursing is currently admitting students to the Round Rock campus for the Traditional BSN program which will begin in the fall 2017 term. Applicants applying to the Round Rock campus will only be considered for admission to that campus and term of entry.
All prerequisite coursework must be successfully completed by the first class day. The program utilizes traditional, face-to-face instruction as well as simulation activities, clinical experiences, team teaching and video conferencing of lectures. Students on the Round Rock campus will have more lectures delivered by video conference than students on the College Station campus.
Students choosing the Traditional BSN track complete 120 credit hours of general education and professional nursing course work. The first two years of the curriculum include prerequisite courses in the humanities and biological, physical and behavioral sciences to provide a foundation for growth in the nursing major. The prerequisite courses may be completed at any accredited college or university. Students will then apply for upper-level entry into the Traditional BSN program to complete the third and fourth years in clinical and non-clinical nursing courses.
Internal applicants are current Texas A&M University undergraduate students in a non-nursing major on either the College Station or Galveston campus. They must meet specific requirements to apply to the upper division sequence and should apply following the internal transfer process which includes completing a NursingCAS Application. Current students who will be earning a bachelor's degree prior to the start date should follow the external transfer application instructions.
External applicants are those attending other colleges and universities. Students on the Blinn TEAM and those participating in the PSA program will follow the external transfer process and deadlines, and will complete an Apply Texas application. Current Texas A&M students who will earn a bachelor's degree prior to the start date should also follow this process.
Applicants should submit only one NursingCAS application per admission cycle. More details may be found under the "How to apply" link below.
